BEING A GIRL!!!!!

"agle janam mohe bitiya na kijo"
a line quite often said....but why???

*because we feel our lives tied in countless laws and rituals or because we don't try to get freedom??
*because our parents put so much restrictions on us or because we fail to convince them??
*because we always complain about discriminations done or because we do favour it sometimes for our benefits??
*because we have to do all the household stuff or because we dont try to be independent and make a life of our own??

Dozy are those who say being a girl is a curse.

What more can make us proud than the fact that we are the creators of every child; behind every successful man, lies a woman; and the best managers in life are women,be it management of time, money or life.

A woman is an epitome of beauty sensuality and elegance but at the same time,is in no manner less in terms of power and strength. She is the most understanding creation on earth. The love and care of a mother is incredible and nothing can acquire its place.

What we think is always on us.We are the creators of our destiny and believe me,gender is never a factor affecting it.

For all girls who still think they lack behind i would like to tell its not because you are a girl, rather it is because you dont deserve to lead. One who doesn't have confidence in oneself can't come to a decision for the entire population of girls.

The american man of letters said-"There is in every true woman's heart a spark of heavenly fire, which lies dormant in the broad daylight of prosperity, but which kindles up and beams ad blazes in the dark hour of adversity.

Come out of your over protective shell and you will discover that you are no less than any other thing in this world and that you can do anything you want!!!

To end with,I would site a quote of Helen Lawrenson: "If a women is sufficiently ambitious, determined and gifted, there is practically nothing she can't do."

An Inarticulate Urge

Take me where it all began,
Help me up to fight again;
Show me that good people,
Always stay the same.

Fix my world that was,
Crushed way back.
Cause I’ve lost something;
That can’t be replaced.
Show me that good things,
Come to those who wait.

Trust me more,
When I least expect that.
Judge me by what I do,
And not by what I say.
Show me that,
Goodwill can never fade away.

Question me when,
I make a mistake.
Betray me if,
I really deserve that.
But still show me,
Goodness does exist even in hell.

''Football : d deSPORTivos ''

It starts with a leather ball
With 22 grown men, running after it..

They dance,they glow,
they push,
they scream,
They use words no mother wants to hear..

As 90 minutes is all they have.
To be treated as god..
Or labelled as a fiasco..

And sometimes at the end of the battle.
Ignoring the multiple tv cameras
they break down n cry.

Would u still dare call it a simple,
leather ball?

Abandoned

There was a boy,
Often involved in a ploy,
Pretending to be a coy,
Playing with emotions like a toy,
Thinking it to be a medium of joy.

Initially not noticed by many,
Thinking him to be as sweet as honey,
Everyone loved and cared this young Jenny,
But once got hold of his irony,
Were filled with anger and agony.

Reprimanded for his act of stupidity,
Everyone turned off their gesture of lucidity,
Was sidelined and there prevailed an aura of tranquility,
When abandoned, pondered over his propensity,
Returned back, promised to respect others individuality.

Right to Education: What is Right and What is Wrong?

“The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows” is well said phrase by Sydney J. Harris. Its cent percent right. Knowledge is what imparted to the children firstly by their parents which is called “informal” education and it is the first step in child’s life that can make or ruin his life. It is informal because it is not provided in any school or in any classroom. It is provided in an environment that helps the child to grow and build its mentality at the very early stage of his life. The second phase of a child’s life is his/her school that provides him the environment in which he learns to cooperate, to perform well in every walk of life and what it is called is “formal” education. Thus both informal and formal education is necessary for a child for his development. But today, do all children have access to this education? What happens when children couldn’t get what he deserves? When their parents’ inability ruin their lives?
In India, nearly 14 crore children are depriving of education. Who is responsible for all this? Numerous questions and a few answers. Their parents’ inability and lack of understanding proves a bane for the entire life of their children. But above all, the government is taking a number of initiatives that helps these children. Some of the praiseworthy initiatives are Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, Sarva Shiksha Abhyan, Mid Day Meal Scheme and many more. Right of Children to free and compulsory education is providing free education to the children of age 6-14. These acts not only take care of education of children but also provide them an environment to maintain their health and nutrition level. But these acts are facing number of challenges today.
One of the challenging situations for RTE is that private schools don’t agree to make 25% reservation for minority children. They don’t agree to impart free education to minority children. Recently in Karnataka, two such children expelled out from a private school only because they are minors. But is it right? Why the private institutions are behaving like this even after knowing that the education is a right of every child? The main reason could be the discrimination in such institutions. Children of belonging to rich families study in these institutions. They may feel less comfort by studying with these children. It may result in fall of “business” of private school. But what should be done to combat these problems? In fact the students should be well trained and should provide education on the lessons of indiscrimination. They should learn to educate in a cooperative environment.
The government didn’t have proper number of teachers to teach children. Less pupil-teacher ratio may result in improper and unhealthy education. The less pupil-teacher ratio is the result of desire of teachers to earn more and more money. The teachers are providing private tuitions to the students. The primary reason why teachers underperform in the classes is the want of additional income. Banning teachers from doing this won’t do away with the problems. Under the strict norms of RTE full fledge educationists should be appointed. The local authorities should be appointed in each district to verify these cases.
Other implication of RTE is that the unrecognised schools should be shut down after 3 years of RTE came into force. Do really these unrecognised schools should be shut down? Today most of the unrecognised schools are solving outreach problems of the school going children. In large slums these unrecognised schools are imparting education to the children. These unrecognised
schools are not the alternatives to the recognised schools. In fact these are the alternatives for education not at all! Do still the unrecognised schools should be disposed off?
One implication of the RTE is that no children shall be failed or expelled from the school till he/ she completes his/her elementary education. Now the questions arise here that is it advantageous for children? Should the students be promoted in the higher standard before he or she does not attain the level what is required for the next class? The intention of this rule is no doubt to support the students who are not able to attain the level of the performance required to gain admission in the next class. But what about the skill development of such children? Failure, no doubt may cause the child to intensely doubt his/her abilities. But remaining in the same class after failure may help the children to develop their skills. If he/she is promoted to the next class, it may ruin his entire life and he would have no chance to build his/her skills again. The government also suggests that the board exams should not be taken during the period of elementary education. The government thinks that the board exams put unnecessary pressure on the students at a young age. But exam pressure is a part of life. The system should face such pressures instead of doing away with them. The reason why the board exams should be taken is that it will also help the government to evaluate the performance of students as well as teachers and to evaluate the RTE that how successful it is going in the country. The students will, in fact, learn to perform well in such “pressures”.
So, in accordance with the measures discussed above, the government should take initiative to make the Right of children to free and compulsory education much more effective.

 Failing should be allowed in the schools because it would help the students to develop their skills. It acts as a critical feedback for both teachers and students. Poor feedback means lack of knowledge about their inabilities and it will smash the whole system. This will also ensure the lesser burden on students in their higher classes.
  1.  Unrecognised schools should not be disposed off. These schools are the alternatives for education not at all! Instead of education in a recognised school. The unrecognised schools are imparting education to those children who are living in a very critical situation in the slums or the students who are living in remote areas. One initiative that the government should take is that it has to recognise all these schools which are performing better instead of being aided by government.
  2. Proper sanitation facilities should be provided in the schools along with education especially for girls.
  3. Teacher-pupil ratio should be improved. The government should appoint well educated teachers. Proper verification should be done from time to time. Teachers should be banned from opening their private tuitions. Proper training should be given to the teachers at the very early stage of their teaching.
  4. Board exams should be taken. It helps the government to evaluate the performance of the teachers as well as students. School tests etc. also help to evaluate the performance of the students but board exams pressurise the students as well as teachers to perform well.
  5.  Government should introduce some incentives to help poor students to continue their study after 14 years of age.
These are some of the steps that government should take to ensure an effective RTE.

In this journey of life.
I met a girl of my type.
She was so full of life.
Just like an angel from the sky.
When I first heard her voice.
Felt like I was in paradise.
And when I looked into her eyes.
                    I saw the seventh sky.

Chorus:      It happened to me .!!
                    Oh yeah...
I think Love is in the breeze..!!
                    Oh yeah..
Reason to feel it is she..!!
                    Oh yeah....
Someone stole my Heart from meeee......

                    Its awkward but I’ll confess.
Without her its difficult to breathe
Implying that she’s my ‘JJ’ and i am her ‘Bumblebee’
A thought is stuck in my mind
                    To tell my feelings  tonight
She’s the one whom I feel
Which gives me creep from inside.

Chorus:      It happened to me .!!
                    Oh yeah...
I think Love is in the breeze..!!
                    Oh yeah..
Reason to feel it is she..!!
                    Oh yeah....
Someone stole my Heart from meeee......

                    And then I realised
                    Its the symbol from dove

That this craziness is just coz i have fallen in Love.... <3<3

What Makes A University Great?

“You may not learn from the lectures by these elite professors, you may not learn from the books in the library, but you will surely learn from your friends in hostel”

At first when I pondered about this, I thought about the things I discuss in hostel and on mess table, what mostly boys discuss are girls, seasons, movies, sports, faculties, mess food, campus news, companies, gadgets, games, this can be a long and lurid list.  I was not able to conclude what this statement actually meant, until I observed it all over again. I observed that people were really discussing ideas, ideas wrapped in stupidity, craziness and frustration. Imagine how boring it would be to discuss something like “organizational structure of a company” instead you just say” if my girlfriend ditched me because of money, I’m gonna open a company” and this is the moment where ideas start flowing, you broach and others join.

It’s not the infrastructure and building that actually make a university; it’s the ideas that have made impact and rest of the success parameters followed eventually. How the mess table conversations can really shape someone’s mind? How connected minds work together? The depths and eruditeness of the things one gets at mess table, let me assure you no book can provide you that much of learning appetite and attitude within such a flick. One cannot understand whole theories on the mess table or memorize the whole formulas, but you can always absorb the ability or inspiration to work on that thing. New TED talk, new book, the content of the book, a small idea like “I googled this and discovered a new thing” can really kindle a zeal to work on big projects.

Philosophies, quotes, political insights, new opportunities, carriers, you name it and they will tell you what they discussed about it. Albeit mess tables and Hostel galleries are not always occupied with nerdy project ideas, nor is the case that you keep on talking about Gaddafi and Obama all the time, but whatever discussion is going on, inclusion of gamut of examples is commendable.

The beauty with these discussions is that even if you are in a technical university or in a B -school, the topics broached in those old hostel building are not confined to their curriculum. You can find technical students talking about Nietzsche, freud or Yeats and the profoundness with which they talk about all of them inculcates a habit of projecting excellence in whatever you do. It’s in the culture of  these varsities that they have kind of milieu that can make you contemplate about things. Profoundness is buttressed at these places.

In all these group discussion and team work, I’m not saying to forsake idiosyncratic ideas, time for self, importance to reflective transcendence shall not be emaciated. I was underlining the way people collide, the way they share ideas. How a bunch of people coming from different walks of life instigate something big. Structure of companies like Infosys, Flipkart, Indiabulls and many more were gestated only in these dorms and mess tables.

It’s not the size of the books or studying hours that make leaders and entrepreneurs out of these educational institutes but it’s certainly something really different. It’s the environment at these places, way to think and attitude to take on things that brings real change. While I’m writing this in my room, free and frolic hostel galleries continue to brim with haphazardness, jokes, claps, cackles, philosophies and  above all, they will be remembered for the silent excogitations beneath all this pandemonium.

BECAUSE WINNERS DO THINGS DIFFERENTLY!

Walking on the beach in the twilight has been my favorite pass time. The sun sinks, leaving a splash of colour and light in the sky and I dip myself in my own thoughts. However such introspection sometimes saddens me as once, I was overshadowed by the feeling of emptiness. All my glory and pride that I reckoned on disappeared like a mirage. Some achievements tend to loose their greatness, when you see million others in the vicinity replicate the same. As I walked alone, constantly being struck by the waves of abominable lull, it pricked me with the question, what have I truly earned, How am I different than the rest?

The last time when I witnessed the debate event in our college, I realized how oblivious I was to the stiff competition. All the painstaking efforts that the speakers had taken, was reflected by their valiant efforts and the active participation. One was better than the other and each speaker took its standard to a new level. Their tenacity eclipsed me as I was demurred and my image as an LC member was put on shaky grounds. If I were a participant, my speech would have been akin to theirs, then how do I prove to be worthier than the rest? The need of hour was to call for the creativity within me, to accentuate my skills so that I stand apart. And this would imply to everyone else.

Today, the value of uniqueness is sky high. Present generation demands innovation and individuality and that is the right approach to victory. One of its example I would like to highlight which my fellow batch mates can definitely relate to. We all had gone through the dark nights of hardship, slogging and toiling over books for long hours. Battling with the vexed questions of IITJEE, we were all a fish out of water. But the ones who stood out in the crowd hardly had to sweat anything out. No topper makes  his way by mugging up solutions, they all have their own secret strategies which are different in their own ways. Burning the midnight oil and then going for exam with baggy eyes don't work out any more.

A calculated and well constructed plan would help and also spare out the need of sabotaging our friends. And all isn't over yet. Four years later, we all will be running the same rat race of which we were a part a few months ago. Companies will be buzzing here till Sunday, sucking out the best nectar from our country. There are thousand colleges, and hence a million students graduating every year. But only a handful of companies come up with quality jobs. A mere degree will do no good.

What recruiters look for is a work experience or something that we call as internship. Involvement in some big event, or any extra curricular activity is also a criteria they consider. An additional course pursued by some noted foreign university would do as an extra bonus and there will be million other ways we can think of.

Success or recognition is never a case of serendipity. It is attained by remorseless and sincere efforts. To make things easier, one can be intelligent enough to look out for something where he is better than the other. Failure is just a state of mind. Its all up to us, whether we want to wallow in self pity and accept it with resignation or extricate out and start building up our future.

Living in the Shadow of Steve Jobs

He had his own style and with it he changed the geography of marketing world. He brought the iPad on stage in a paper bag and unveiled it as a new age computer. No one can forget the legend he created with the first TV Ad of Apple in 1984 at the launch of Macintosh.  He is termed as the father of modern age gadgets, from iPod to iPhone and than to iPad, he gave all the products that people didn’t realized they needed until they were presented before them.

He didn’t go with the need of the people, rather he made them realize what they are missing. It was the vision of this wunderkind that Apple is still innovating. No one can deny the fact that we got Windows because Apple had Macintosh and the much recent example in this series is of Samsung.

Maybe he didn’t knew much of technicality but, his vision was absolute and that was to present the product in the best way possible, that meant a perfectly designed outer-case, a not so messy circuit (even though no one is going to see it) and the box in which the product is to be placed for selling. Everything was done the Steve Jobs way.

This brings us to 12th Sep. 2012, the Press conference called by Apple Inc. likely to launch it’s new product (new iPhone most likely) but, Steve Jobs won’t be there this time around. New CEO Tim Cook will see through the proceedings and this will be the ultimate test for the new CEO. It’s not easy to replace Steve Jobs and Tim Cook realizes that very well. Though, he had launched iPhone 4S but that was some days after the death of Steve Jobs. The death news was so shocking that it shifted the entire focus from the launch and the product was an instant hit.

But, the trauma of the death is now long gone. Now, all the eyes will be on Tim Cook and the way he launches the new product. Will he get into the shoes of Steve Jobs comfortably, will he be able to set the trend for the new product the way Steve Jobs used to do with the help of the dramatized effects he used to create at these Press Conferences with his new products or will he create a legend of his own.
This is to be seen.

But one thing is for sure, iPhone 5 is much awaited but more anticipation will be on the way Tim Cook does it. Fortunately, it won’t be long before we will see the new Apple Inc. without it’s Founder Steve Jobs.

PLATFORM PARADIGM

On my way to city of heart,
Chilled and thrilled apart,
Ambling around the station like a cart,
Because the master didn’t prepare the chart.

Hordes of people in a rush,
Tired and fired by the flush,
Eager to catch their crush,
Mingled into one another like mush.

I sat there watching all this,
Comes one and goes another without miss,
Waited anxiously in a state of bliss,
Until my heart spoke out with hiss.

Got cognisance that the arrival is due,
Fumed with anger and promised to sue,
Was left on the platform with a noise of few,
As everyone slept under the shades of blue.

Finally it arrived with a bang,
And their came my luggage on a hang,
Full of ecstasy and little of pang,
Entered the train for a journey of Chang.

RISE FROM THE ASHES LIKE A PHOENIX!

"I slept and I dreamt that life was joy, I awoke and saw that life was service, I acted and behold, service is
joy!!!!!

There are two kind of people in this world, One who want to chase their dreams and the others who want to live their dreams. What I believe is that the first category includes those people who think that conquering the obstacles set by this competitive world would make them achieve something called "Larger than Life!", for them life is to always PROOVE yourselves around the world.

The second category of people include those people who belong to the class of IMAGINATORS, not just DREAM CHASERS. The most important thing which demarcates these people from something called the ordinary class of people is that they strive to create their mindset with such an elegant persona that it always seems that the "WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH" for them, to have a more clear view I suppose that these people actually know that how to LIVE YOUR DREAMS.

But why am i telling all this? Why being so thoughtful? Is something changing in me or rather something is forcing me to be driven towards that change?

Everyone wants to be something big in life, but its often that we don't actually realize that what is that BIG thing for us. Every engineering college's Fresher had a dream to crack the prestigious IIT-JEE, to cross the gates of that respected institution not just like a visitor but like a student, they worked hard to achieve their dream, the attitude of something called like DETERMINATION TO WIN AT ANY COST fueled their minds.

This  journey goes on and with the passage of 8 to 9 months time, the day of examination arrives. Enthusiastic plus nervous aspirants put up their best and wait for the results. Everyone had high hopes, but not all are chosen to be worthy enough to pass the barrier.

All the dreams get shattered. Arrows of failure in this competitive exam brought them on the ground where they couldn't find anything that could help them regain the level of confidence that they had, for the first  the bullets of failure were being shot in a continuous streak. This unbearable stress slowly appears to win the battle against the ability to rise up.

But God has its own methods to teach his lessons, "TOUGH TIMES NEVER LAST BUT TOUGH PEOPLE DO". Its not always that the paths that we choose for ourselves shall always be the path of least resistance.

WHEN THE THINGS GO WRONG, AS SOMETIMES THEY WILL.
WHEN THE ROAD YOU ARE TRUDGING, SEEMS ALL UPHILL.
WHEN THE FUNDS ARE LOW AND THE DEBTS ARE HIGH,
YOU WANT TO SMILE, BUT YOU HAVE TO SIGH.

BUT.... DON'T QUIT!, AS THE PACE SEEMS SLOW. YOU NEVER KNOW THAT YOU MIGHT SUCCEED IN THE NEXT BLOW!

Re-energize yourself and start believing that you will be bestowed with success by god, the frequencies of the imagination and dreams will definitely resonate with the high pitch frequencies of success. Decide to
re-captivate your dreams and START WRITING A NEW DEFINITION IN LIFE.

LIFE IS DEFINITELY A NETWORK OF HIGHWAYS, WHERE NOT A SINGLE HIGHWAY CAN BE CROSSED WITHOUT CROSSING THE STREETS OF FAILURE!

As Steve Jobs said, "Do what you love to do, if you have found it you are lucky, but if not, then keep looking".

"RISE FROM THE ASHES LIKE A PHOENIX!" & DEFEAT THE DEFEAT UNTIL DEFEAT DEFEATS YOU because,  LIFE IS EARNEST, LIFE IS REAL..... AND GRAVE IS NOT ITS GOAL!

Missing Report: TIME

Today I want to file a missing report. I want to file this report for the entity “TIME”. ”I don’t have the time”. This phrase has become much more common than the common flu. Yes, we have advanced our self on technology, medical science etc but one thing that we have lost for sure is time. In this blog, I want to portrait how our lives have been affected due to this very common phrase.

Lets start the discussion from our home environments. Modern day parents are really part-time parents and full time employees. It is so common so see a child left at a baby sitting rather than his/her parents care. And the reason for this is, “No Time”. So many of men and women work all day, travel for a few hours each day and at the end, all that is left is “No Time”. Now, let us give a though on how the child and his/her thought process gets effected. As the child gets older, he/she gets habituated to being all by himself/herself. This is really not a good social trait that is being developed in modern day society. To pass this time, he starts to use a host of gadgets that are available in this era of technology. It is not uncommon for children as young as 10 years of age to be active on facebook. Then there are Ipads, Ipods and a host of i-stuff to keep the child occupied. Not to forget there are so many cartoons and games to enjoy with. But is this what really the childhood is about? I firmly believe our childhoods are the happiest days of our life, without any kind of tension and money is as good as a paper. The childhood is really meant to smell the roses, be pampered, explore the environment to name a few.

Now some people may disagree with me. They may have an opinion that the modern child is also enjoying himself/herself by being on facebook, by playing all sorts games, watching cartoons. To such people, I respect your opinion, but I am sorry to say I do not agree. Let me clarify further why I say so. Lets talk of the effect of games, tv, internet on children. One can go on and on discussing the effects of modern technology on children. But I would like to cut that discussion and just say, the child does not learn to interact, feel ignored and may become socially awkward and/or develop split personality.

Now lets move on to family relations in modern day society. Modern society has brought this new term “nuclear families” and “extended family”. Very innovative terminology, but lets dwell deeper. First lets talk about relations in general inside nuclear family. It is so many times seen, husband-wife have nothing to talk about. The love that was once there fades away. Children have not much to talk to parents. With ‘to talk’ I mean a real conversation. Sibling relations go cold on the pretext, “No Time”. Of-course, this can be generalized to all house holds but believe it or not this happens. Now lets go on to talk about the extended family. I am sure the reader must have guessed by now what I am going to say about these relations. To generalize, I have nothing more to say than we really have lost touch with our extended families. Of-course there are exceptions to this stereo-types. I have seen a few siblings which are like best buddies. Have seen people who are very much in touch on a regular basis with their uncles, aunts, maternal uncles and so on. But you see, this has become exceptions rather than norms. Such is the effect of the phrase “No Time” and the modern life style.

Recently, I happen to buy a new android phone. I was really amazed the way it helps to communicate with your friends and family. But in this modern day do we really communicate? Believe it or not but the answer is a blunt “NO”. In-spite of the technology offering so many ways to communicate we rather prefer let go our time than to find time for our friends and family. This is because we are too used to using “No Time” phrase.

I have some things in my mind of this issue. I cannot change the people around but this is what I have thought I can do. The foremost thing is to get rid of the phrase “No Time”. We really can make time for most of the stuff. Its more of a decision. After staying a while in Europe, the conclusion I have come to is, Europeans really have a good way of chilling out. They think of work strictly during work hours. ie. weekdays from 9 to 5. Be it a business person or an employee. Rest of the time they do activities they always wanted to do. Adventure sports, holidays, time for family. One thing about Indians I like is that, festivals are seen as a way to meet people. If it becomes possible, I want to fuse these two mind-sets together and live the moment without the phrase “No Time”.

Lastly I would like to say that I am fortunate enough to have people around me who would find time out of their schedules for me and try to keep in touch though phone, email, chats, facebook etc. Finally, I hope this article provokes a new thought process in the reader. Comments, opinions, critics are most welcome.
